10 GREY AREAS THAT LIMITS REVIVAL IN OUR LIVES: PART 9: SELF- CONFESSION AND OBEDIENCE

10 GREY AREAS THAT LIMITS REVIVAL IN OUR LIVES: PART 9: SELF- CONFESSION AND OBEDIENCE

SELF- CONFESSION AND OBEDIENCE
Shall not God search this out? For he knoweth the secrets of the heart”- Psalms 44:21.
“O Lord, thou hast searched me, and known me”- Psalms 139:1.

“Not letting the Lord prone to the depth of my sinfulness but trying to push Him off with a shallow confession and partial obedience”.

It does not matter your position in the ministry and status in the faith, let the Holy Spirit search through your heart. Can you say it boldly to the Lord; “search my heart”.
I have realizes over time that God is not initially looking forward to see our perfection, He firstly desires our sincerity. Sincerity is the pathway to perfection. Why do you make shallow confession to God who knows the heart of all men? Why do you engage partial obedience on instruction given to you by God who can accomplish His instruction without you?

Don’t try to cover up for God, He knows you. Open up to Him on every matter, He desires your sincerity. When God asked Adam why he disobeyed, he made a confession that it was Eve that made him disobey. Eve said, it was the serpent. No one wants to take the blame, Adam would have made a complete confession. King Saul made a partial obedience which is complete disobedience by sparing King Agag and some cattle for sacrifice to God. When prophet Samuel asked him what made him do that, he made a swallow confession that it was the people that made him disobeyed.  David after he committed adultery and sentenced Uriah to death, he made a complete confession when prophet Nathan confronted Him.

10 GREY AREAS THAT LIMITS REVIVAL IN OUR LIVES: PART 8: SELF- EDICATION.

10 GREY AREAS THAT LIMITS REVIVAL IN OUR LIVES: PART 8: SELF- EDICATION.

SELF- EDICATION.
“Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another” – Romans 12:10.
“Not listening to others when they were telling of God’s blessings on their lives, but wanting to share mine instead”

How do you feel when someone tells you about God’s blessing upon their lives? Do you close your ears to their testimonies because it was not you that had the testimony?
Many believers are so interested in themselves to the extent that they get uncomfortable at the results and successes of others. They always desire God’s blessing them and leaving their close associates behind. They want to attain a height in

God so they could tell their fellow believer they are not of the same spiritual status. Anytime another fellow believer tries to share his experience, prayer life, encounters with them, they become uncomfortable. They become grieved because they desire to experience it alone.
Ministers of the gospel struggle with strive and jealousy when they listen to fellow ministers sharing testimonies of God’s blessing in their lives and ministries.

10 GREY AREAS THAT LIMITS REVIVAL IN OUR LIVES: PART 10: SELF- HURT.

10 GREY AREAS THAT LIMITS REVIVAL IN OUR LIVES: PART 10: SELF- HURT.

SELF- HURT.

Wanting others to be hurt because someone hurt you”.
Why do you subconsciously desire that others around us pass through the hurts and pains we go through? Ministers of the gospel that are struggling with church growth desires that neighbouring church shouldn’t grow too because they aren’t growing. You fall into sin and desires other believer fall into the same mess so that you can have someone as a co-reference of your mistake. You desire to hurt others because someone hurt you. Why transfer aggressions? Why pay evil for evil?

These are the grey areas that have limited revival in our lives and nations. There can’t be a national revival if there is no personal revival. If these ten grey areas are not addressed strictly, we will remain revival bankrupt even if we pray from today to tomorrow. Invite the Holy Ghost to do a thorough scan in your live today and prune these limitations.

10 GREY AREAS THAT LIMITS REVIVAL IN OUR LIVES: PART 7: SELF- PROMOTION

10 GREY AREAS THAT LIMITS REVIVAL IN OUR LIVES: PART 7: SELF- PROMOTION
SELF- PROMOTION
Using Christ and His message to promote myself and give me a place in the church”.

We are in a generation where people desire to use God to promote themselves and ministries. God desires to use us not for us to use Him fulfill our ulterior motives. The motives of many believers and ministries are wrong. They desire power, miracles, signs and wonders to promote themselves. Many are concern about these things only because they desire a name for themselves.
“For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the north, nor from the west, nor from the south.
But God is the judge; he putteth down one and setteth up another”- Psalms 75:6-7.

It is only God that can truly promote a man. It is only God that can set up a man high above his equals. Depend only on God and He will reward you. Promotion is a reward from God.
And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he shall humble himself shall be exalted”- Matthew 23:12.
“Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up”- James 4:10.
“Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that HE MAY EXALT YOU IN DUE TIME”- 1 Peter 5:6.

The grace for promotion is a product of humility. There is due season for God to promote a man. Any man that wants to use God to promote himself is guilty of impatience.

10 GREY AREAS THAT LIMITS REVIVAL IN OUR LIVES: PART 6: SELF- INTEREST

10 GREY AREAS THAT LIMITS REVIVAL IN OUR LIVES: PART 6: SELF- INTEREST

SELF- INTEREST
Asking the Lord to bless your sermons instead of finding out from Him what He wanted to say to the people”.

Oh my preacher brethren! Why do you like to decide what to preach without allowing the Holy Spirit decide His message for His people? You start by calculating and evaluating the people with the message you preached somewhere with results. You get your jotter to edit your jotter old sermon with the premonition of getting the same results you had with it. May I let you know, the word of God must be fresh from Him to get the required result. It is like the manna in the wilderness, it can’t be preserved.

Enough of re-fabricated sermons. Message born out of the head would affect the head; message born out of the heart affects the heart. I love the resolution of Oral Roberts, he said; “I will never step on the pulpit to deliver a message until I feel the anointing fresh on me and hear what He wants to tell His people”. Can you wait on God for that?

“The preparation of the heart belong to man, but the answer of the tongue is from the Lord”- Proverbs 16:1.

Don’t replace divine utterance with your eloquence. People may applaud your eloquence in delivering the wrong sermon for a particular moment but you have succeeded in leading them the wrong way for that meeting.

10 GREY AREAS THAT LIMITS REVIVAL IN OUR LIVES: PART 5: SELF- CONCERN

10 GREY AREAS THAT LIMITS REVIVAL IN OUR LIVES: PART 5: SELF- CONCERN

SELF- CONCERN
“Expecting the Lord to stand by you when you are wrong, so your reputation in the eyes of the people would not suffer”
Many believers find it difficult to take blame. When they make mistakes, they look for “cover up” strategies. They are so concerned about their reputation by despising their wrong doings and shortcomings.

This has been the reason why many ministers are comfortable when they preach powerful sermon, perform miracles even when they are indulging in secret sins. King Saul remained on the throne for 38 years after he has been rejected since the second year of his reign. He was concern about his reputation before the people than his relationship with God.
At the Garden of Eden, we would also observe a transfer of blame. God asked Adam why he ate from the tree, he responded that it was Eve that prompted him. When Eve was asked, she diversed the blame to the serpent (Genesis 3:11-13).
Why give an excuse when you sin? Why are you hypocritical?  God knows every man and see everyone.

Let people know you for who you are than knowing you for who you are not. Why are you so concern about reputation even when you are wrong? Why do you like to cover your shortcomings?

10 GREY AREAS THAT LIMITS REVIVAL IN OUR LIVES: PART 4- SELF- DELIGHT.

10 GREY AREAS THAT LIMITS REVIVAL IN OUR LIVES: PART 4- SELF- DELIGHT.

SELF- DELIGHT.
“Being secretly glad when a brother I didn’t think was very good fell, as it made me feel more spiritual”.
Many believers are delighted in the fall of others. How would you feel when that brother burning for more of God around you tells you he committed a sin? Do you feel more spiritual when a friend in the faith tells you; he is struggling with his spiritual life?
We have seen pastors celebrating the fall of other ministers of the gospel. Can we adopt what Jesus did for Peter? We have to pray for one another.

And the Lord said. Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat.
But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me. Strengthen your brethren”- Luke 22:31-32.

Jesus instructed Peter to strengthen others not to rejoice at the fall of others. What makes you more spiritual is not when you standing when others are failing, it is when you are helping others stand by praying for them.
“Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall”- 1 Cor. 10:12.
Take heed unto thyself!
